Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Viraj Patel handles information in the Presence application and its associated website. Presence is a personal organization application designed for iPhone and iPad.

The information Presence handles depends on the features you choose to use, the content you enter, the permissions you grant, and any optional services you configure.

2. Information you provide

You may choose to enter or save information in Presence. Not every user provides every category. Depending on your use, this may include:

• Notes, writing sessions, protected-note settings, habits, saved links, profile details, profile photos, and preferences.
• Fitness plans, exercise templates, workout sessions, body measurements, nutrition profiles, meal logs, and recovery information.
• Work check-ins, check-outs, breaks, work-hour history, and related status information.
• Trips, itineraries, destinations, passport-style travel records, and travel notes.
• Recipes and photos, meals, books, entertainment watchlists, chores, recurring charges, important dates, wardrobe items, business cards, and bicycle destinations or ride information.
• Credentials, API keys, OAuth tokens, redirect settings, or other configuration you provide for optional integrations.
• Feedback you choose to save or submit through available app feedback features.

3. Device permissions and Apple services

Presence requests access only when a related feature needs it. Confirmed capabilities include:

• HealthKit: reading age, biological sex, height, weight, and body-fat information to estimate nutrition targets.
• Calendar: adding important dates and related events when you request it.
• Location: weather, bicycle routing and ride tracking, maps, profile modes, destination coordinates, and an optional location timeline. Some location features may request background or always authorization.
• Photos: selecting profile, recipe, or wardrobe images through Apple’s photo picker.
• Bluetooth: connecting to compatible nearby light accessories used by an optional Tesla-related light-sync tool.
• NFC: reading or writing supported NDEF business-card tags.
• Notifications: reminders for chores, important dates, and supported quick actions.
• Face ID: unlocking protected notes when configured.
• Apple Music: displaying and controlling playback when authorized.
• Widgets and App Groups: sharing limited app data with Presence Home Screen widgets and processing quick actions.
• iCloud and CloudKit: optional synchronization and backup functionality described below.

You control these permissions through Apple system prompts and Settings. You may revoke a permission, although the associated feature may stop working or become limited.

4. Local storage and iCloud synchronization

Presence uses native Apple technologies including SwiftData, UserDefaults or AppStorage, an App Group shared store, Keychain, iCloud key-value storage, iCloud Drive export, and CloudKit.

• App records and preferences may be stored locally on your device.
• Credentials, tokens, and protected-note PIN verification data are stored using Apple Keychain APIs. The implementation uses a device-only accessibility class after first unlock for newly stored values.
• Private CloudKit synchronization for supported SwiftData records is optional and can be enabled or disabled in Presence Settings.
• Some supported preference-backed records can synchronize through Apple’s ubiquitous key-value store when iCloud sync is enabled.
• You may choose to export data archives to Files or back them up to iCloud Drive.

Apple’s handling of iCloud, CloudKit, HealthKit, App Store, and device information is governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies. Presence does not control Apple’s systems.

5. Third-party integrations

Presence includes optional features that can communicate with external services. Current source includes configuration or requests for Tesla Fleet API, Spotify, TMDB, Wordnik, Open Library, Open-Meteo, Apple Music, Apple Maps or MapKit, WeatherKit entitlements, and external websites opened in the in-app browser.

Some integrations require credentials that you provide; others retrieve public catalog, weather, mapping, entertainment, book, vocabulary, music, or vehicle information. These features are optional and may not all be enabled or available in every release.

When you use an integration, relevant requests and identifiers are sent to that service. Each third party has its own terms and privacy practices, which Presence does not control. Presence is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tesla.

6. Website information

The current Presence website uses browser local storage to remember your light or dark appearance choice and, on the broader creator portfolio, may cache publicly displayed market data. The Presence pages do not currently include an account system, advertising tracker, analytics SDK, or payment form.

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject, message, and related request information you submit are sent to FormSubmit for delivery to the developer’s designated email inbox. FormSubmit may apply spam-prevention measures, including reCAPTCHA, and states that form submissions are retained in its archive for 30 days. The developer’s email provider may retain the delivered message according to its own settings and policies.

The website is published as static content through GitHub Pages and loads Lucide icons from a content-delivery network. GitHub or another infrastructure provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps in server logs. Links to the App Store or other websites are governed by those services’ own privacy practices.

7. How information is used

Information may be used to provide the features you request, save preferences, display and organize your records, calculate user-requested summaries, support widgets and quick actions, synchronize or back up data when enabled, connect to optional services, protect locked notes, diagnose reported problems, and respond to support requests.

8. Data sharing

Presence may transmit information through paths you select, including Apple services used for synchronization, backup, permissions, maps, music, or widgets; optional third-party integrations you configure; FormSubmit and email services used when you send the website contact form; exports or links you choose to share; and disclosures required by applicable legal process.

Presence does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. If service providers or data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect where required.

9. Data retention and deletion

Presence retains locally stored information until you delete it, remove the app or its data, import replacement data, or use a supported removal control. Many app areas allow individual records to be edited or deleted. Integration tokens or credentials can be cleared from their configuration screens where implemented.

Settings supports exporting multiple JSON files, importing archives, backing supported exports up to iCloud Drive, and disabling iCloud synchronization. Supported feature screens provide record-level deletion. Hiding a feature changes its visibility but does not delete its saved information.

No single verified “delete everything” workflow was found in the inspected Settings implementation. You may also manage app and iCloud information through applicable Apple device and iCloud controls.

10. Children’s privacy

Presence is available to users of all ages. If local law requires a parent or guardian to consent to a younger user’s use of an app or optional service, that permission should be obtained before use. Presence does not provide public profiles, social discovery, or a website account system.

11. Security

Presence uses native platform storage and permission mechanisms and stores certain credentials in Keychain. Reasonable care is taken when designing these features, but no device, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. This policy does not claim end-to-end encryption, zero-knowledge handling, or a security certification.

12. International users

If you use Presence internationally, information may be processed by Apple or optional third-party services in locations governed by their terms. Privacy rights and requirements vary by location, and non-waivable local protections continue to apply.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Presence, its integrations, or applicable requirements evolve. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or website where appropriate.
